Our Story
Carehaven is a student-led initiative fusing nursing science, psychology, and grassroots activism to empower underserved youth advocating knowledge and tools to navigate their physical and mental well-being with confidence.
Founded on principles of equity and accessibility, we bridge the gaps in healthcare education by combining evidence-based nursing practices with compassionate peer support.
Our mission is clear is to ensure every young person, regardless of background, insurance, or immigration status and provide access to judgment-free, accurate health guidance.
“Your one voice can become a shield for someone else.”

Why we started this
When I first arrived as an immigrant student, I faced endless hurdles just to access basic healthcare—months-long waits for vaccines, confusing navigating systems, and watching peers in similar situations suffer silently. Many underprivileged or ESOL students I met shared these struggles: parents working long hours, language barriers, or fear of seeking help. Carehaven began to lend a supportive shoulder to this gap. Our mission is practical and peer-driven: to equip underserved teens with knowledge, resources, and a supportive community to navigate health and wellness because no one should have to figure it out alone.

Our Mission
To create accessible, peer-led wellness spaces where ESOL and underserved teens can find their voice, share their stories, and build resilience together through community support and culturally responsive resources.
